Apple Announces The New iPad, iOS 5.1 Update Was Also Released

At an event in San Francisco, Apple announced a new tablet that we wait. Earlier, rumor says that the latest Apple tablet will be called iPad 3 or iPad HD, but surprisingly, Apple’s new tablet is simply called iPad, just like the Apple’s first tablet.

Apple probably won’t use the latest numbers to iPad name. Without the latest numbers, the latest iPad won’t kill the previous generation. Apple also easier to upgrade the iPad features and specs without adding latest numbers to the name of the product.

Although this tablet has simple name, but the new iPad offers better specifications than the previous generation. The new iPad has Retina IPS Display 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution with density of 263.92 ppi which powered dual-core A5X chip with quad-core graphics that offer better graphic display.

The new iPad also comes with a 5 Megapixel BSI unit with auto-focus, sporting a 5-element lens and capable of 1080p video recording.

The new iPad offers new connectivity features, including HSPA + 21Mbps and 42Mbps DC-HSDPA and 4G LTE up to 73Mbps. Apple claims the new iPad battery was able to support up to 10 hours, while when the 4G mode can power the device up to 9 hours.

The new iPad will be shipped in some versions. The new iPad 16 GB versions is priced around US $ 499, 32 GB for US $ 599 and 64 GB for US $ 699. The new iPad will be released on March 16 and first will be available in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Besides announcing the new iPad, Apple also introduced the latest version of iOS, it’s iOS 5.1. Interestingly, users can download iOS 5.1 via over the air (OTA) shortly after the iOS 5.1 was announced. IOS 5.1 offers new features, like the siri for Japanese, camera shortcut is now visible on the lockscreen, and much more.
