Microsoft Surface for Windows RT version rumored to be priced at $199. It’s very surprising, previously Microsoft Surface was rumored be priced at $1000. But an anonymous source told to Engadget site that Microsoft Surface will be priced $199.

According to the sources, pricing and release dates have been set when Microsoft held a TechReady15 conference. If nothing changes, Microsoft Surface for Windows RT tablet sold for $199 and will be released on October 26.

Microsoft Surface for Windows RT tablet is equipped with ARM processor, 10-inch screen and comes in two choices of internal memory, 32 and 64 GB.

If Microsoft is selling the Surface at cheap price, then this tablet will compete with Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire.

Meanwhile, previously one of OEM partners, Acer has pleaded that don’t sell The Microsoft Surface too cheap. Acer Chairman,  J.T. Wang suggested that the Surface is priced around $499 – $699. Price too low will create negative impact to OEM partners.
